As part of its mission to promote the Northeast Ohio region to the 50,000 visitors who will be here this summer, the Host Committee is creating an online calendar detailing the events occurring before, during and after the Convention.
As Destination Cleveland partners, the Host Committee wanted to make sure this was communicated to Community Update subscribers prior to the public. In order for an event to be considered to appear on the Host Committee’s website (www.2016cle.com), it must meet the criteria below.
The event must:
o Occur between June 19 and Aug. 6
o Be open to the public (not private)
o Take place in a county with at least one hotel in the Cleveland 2016 Republican National Convention hotel block, including:
- Cuyahoga County
- Erie County
- Lake County
- Lorain County
- Medina County
- Portage County
- Stark County
- Summit County
The following events will not be approved:
o Announcements, ongoing meetings, advertisements, solicitations, personal events, or events of a commercial nature
o Events containing slanderous, unlawful or obscene content
o Events that are invitation-only or target a highly niche audience
o Event submissions that do not include sufficient details
Examples of events that will not be approved include happy hours, ladies nights, karaoke night, etc.
To submit event information for consideration, please click here. Each submitted event will first go through an approval process to make sure that it contains all the information needed to be added. You will be notified if your event can not be approved.
